Why prepare AI output before printing?
Copied chat answers may include conversational introductions, code fences, tables, and equations. Printing a chat page can also include interface elements you do not want in a document. Paste the content into the editor so you can inspect exactly what will appear on each PDF page.
Use Markdown from your AI assistant
The same Markdown editor handles these sources; there is no automatic, model-specific account import.
| Source examples | What to paste and check |
|---|---|
| ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot | Copy the answer as Markdown when available. Keep headings, fenced code, and tables in the pasted source. |
| DeepSeek, Grok, Qwen | Paste the final answer you want to publish. Review reasoning text and any unsupported markup before export. |
| WhatsApp or Meta AI | Paste plain text or Markdown. Add headings and fenced code in the editor if the copied message has lost its formatting. |
What the converter does
Clean common chat wrappers
When Clean AI Preamble is enabled, recognized LLM introductions, closing lines, and paired <think>...</think> blocks are automatically removed from preview and export. The editor retains the original source. Review unrecognized model-specific tags manually.
Plan for physical pages
Preview page breaks before exporting. The renderer can continue long code blocks and tables across pages and applies heading and paragraph placement rules. Complex pages still deserve a visual check.
Choose a reading style
Start with the VS Coder Dark document theme, inspired by Visual Studio Code, and Cascadia Code for technical output. The source editor also offers VS Coder dark, GitHub light, and Warm light color themes; choose the exported code-block style separately.
Keep math sharp
Supported inline and display equations use common LaTeX-style delimiters, bundled OpenType math fonts, and vector PDF drawing. The renderer supports a math subset rather than full LaTeX packages, so preview unusual commands.
Review potential secrets
PDF export redacts recognized secret patterns and flags recognized token, email, and private-IP patterns. Detection is limited to known patterns; inspect the PDF before sharing.
Generate the PDF locally
Markdown parsing and PDF generation run in your browser without uploading document content to a FlamePDF conversion server. The site still loads page resources and may make other network requests.
Choose the output you can review
Printing a chat page and exporting edited Markdown serve different purposes. Actual results depend on the source, browser, and document.
| Decision | Print the chat page | Paste into FlamePDF |
|---|---|---|
| What appears | The page may include chat controls, avatars, or conversation context. | You choose the Markdown source and can remove unwanted text. |
| Code and math | Appearance follows the chat site’s print styles. | Supported code and math receive document-specific PDF styling. |
| Pages | Page breaks follow the browser’s print layout. | Review physical pages and adjust settings before export. |
| Source privacy | Depends on the chat service and its print flow. | Pasted document content is processed in your browser for PDF generation. |

AI Markdown to PDF questions
Can I combine several AI responses into one PDF?
Yes. Choose Paste or upload Markdown from Add multiple files, reorder the queue, and export one combined book or separate PDFs in a ZIP. Choose continuous flow or page breaks between files for a combined document.
Can I use output from any AI assistant?
Yes. Paste text or Markdown from ChatGPT, Claude, DeepSeek, Gemini, Copilot, Grok, Meta AI, or another source. FlamePDF processes the content you paste; it does not connect to those model accounts.
Are LLM wrappers and <think> blocks removed automatically?
Yes. When Clean AI Preamble is enabled, recognized LLM chat introductions and sign-offs and paired <think>...</think> blocks are automatically removed from the PDF preview and export. The editor retains the original source. Unrecognized model-specific artifact tags are not removed automatically and should be reviewed manually.
Can I use LaTeX equations?
Supported inline and display math accepts common delimiters such as $...$, $$...$$, \(...\), and \[...\], with the math commands implemented by the renderer. This is a supported math subset rather than a full LaTeX package environment, so preview unusual commands before export.
Can I choose a Visual Studio Code-style editor theme?
The source editor offers VS Coder dark, a color theme inspired by Visual Studio Code, plus GitHub light and Warm light. Exported document themes and fenced-code block styles are separate settings, so choose the appearance for both the editor and PDF.
Does secret sanitization catch every sensitive value?
No. It recognizes selected patterns such as common API tokens, private keys, email addresses, and private IP addresses. Check the preview and exported PDF for anything else that should not be shared.
Are my pasted documents uploaded?
Markdown conversion and PDF generation run in your browser; document contents are not uploaded to a FlamePDF conversion server for this operation. Normal website resource and optional service requests can still occur.
